New Additions: East Coasters join the Alliance

We’re kicking off the year with two new additions to the Alliance – Sweetwater and Valentine Wines.

In line with our national expansion these latest portfolio additions hail from the eastern seaboard. Our growth in east coast market sales has increased exponentially over the past six to twelve months, and so the expansion of our portfolio to include a couple more east coast locals is just delightful.

Sweetwater Estate – a gem in the crown of the Hunter Valley, joins Craft Alliance and brings more than 25 years of estate-grown wines with them.

Sweetwater Estate are true pioneers of the Hunter Valley wine region with the first plantings in 1829 by Richard Jones, an English pastoralist. The vineyard was then re-planted in 1998 with the wines that we enjoy today.

At the helm of winemaking at Sweetwater is Bryan Currie - a talented, award-winning winemaker with accolades including Gourmet Traveller - Winemaker of the year, and a honoured scholar at the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial.

Crafted in the celebrated Hunter Valley wine region, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, their current release wines and limited quantity of single vineyard museum wines are exceptional and welcomed additions to our portfolio.

Head south and nestled in the Yarra Valley you’ll find Valentine Wines.

A small independent winery from Yarra Valley, Victoria. Leader, Dominic Valentine, is no stranger to WA – cutting his winemaking teeth at Leeuwin Estate and Xanadu and studying under (one of our absolute favourites) Glenn Goodall.

Inspired to make his own mark on the industry – he went on to study at Adelaide University, then headed off for Germany’s Rheingau region and France Alsace. When he returned to Australia in 2011 – Valentine Wines was born.

These days – they are renowned for producing wines reflecting site specific characteristics and honouring the nuances of the area.
